This movie is gonna be awesome,we already know that even without Quesada's constant assurance of awesomeness.

My hammer is rising in anticipation for this Movie!

Posted by: Weaponm on November 30, 2009 at 01:03:40

This might be the big one!!!!!!! oh yeah the movie seems pretty big too.. He needs to stop 'reassuring' all of us.. I get it, Thor will kick major ass! Great! okay! Stop repeating it..

I just hope that it doesn't stray that far away from what the comic book was. The story I have confidence in just cause of who we have as the director and the casting choices so far is great!

I would love to see Hawkeye cameo, and that guy from "Hurt Locker" playing him.

I can't wait. I hope they respect the comic book lore though, I want thor and loki helmets here! I dont want no SCI FI network Thor now!! lol

Let's not forget that Kenneth Branagh once bragged about revamping Frankenstein and look what we've got: that god-awful Mary Shelley's Frankenstein. But, I'll keep my fingers crossed.

Thor is different from any of the other superhero and it could be said that he is the first superhero created by mankind. He was just reinvented by Marvel Comics. As a kid, I remember visiting the library to learn more about Norse mythology because of Thor.

Thanks for talking Joe! See you at the movies!

Posted by: Harish on November 30, 2009 at 01:22:14

Nice.

Waited a few good years for this.

I'm confident with Marvel Studios having control that we'll get something very worth our while.

Bring it on!

Posted by: Spawnacus on November 30, 2009 at 01:24:44

Wait a sec... Ray Stevenson is in Thor. Is Frank Castle making a cameo?

Posted by: Hengky Tanoyo on November 30, 2009 at 01:41:43

@duplinprint

While I would not argue that the whole Thor and Asgard mythology is indeed marvellous, the ideas of metahuman and demigod beings are also existent in many cultures. The Greek has Hercules, the Hindus got Gathot Katj, the Chinese got the Monkey King. Point is nobody can claim to be the first to come up with the superhuman notion. What we can say for certain, Superman is the first commercialized, Americanized, and copyrighted superhuman in modern fiction and pop culture.

That being said, can't wait to see the Mjolnir in action...

Talk is cheap. I really like Quesada, lets hope he is right.

Posted by: Chris C. on November 30, 2009 at 01:56:00

It changes the super hero movie formula, huh? Hmm, it might be in trouble of flopping then. :P

I'm excited for Thor, it's got a lot going for it. I look forward to seeing how it expands the Marvel movie universe and how Branagh handles a project as huge as this.

Can't wait movie of 2011 people hands down!

Posted by: TheTOBster21 on November 30, 2009 at 02:08:43

STFU BLAKE! Hater!!!!

Posted by: owl on November 30, 2009 at 02:08:59

Where does this obsession come from to have the movies just like the comics ?
If you love the way the comics work so much that you wouldn't change a thing... why go and watch a movie? Just stick to the comic book!
Interestingly, those films who actually portray a character just like in the comics are mostly called "cheap" by exactly those people who always ramble on about irrelevant details being changed...
Thor may not wear helmet? So what?
Wolverine doesn't wear yellow spandex? Thank god! :-)

Posted by: Fridge on November 30, 2009 at 02:14:08

Can they stop talking about it and just make the damn movie already.

Posted by: Danny_Rand on November 30, 2009 at 03:04:27

yeah....that god awful Mary Shelly's Frankenstein...with that horrible actor, Robert DeNiro...

Posted by: milojthatch on November 30, 2009 at 03:16:17

I've never been a huge Thor fan, but based on what I do know about him and what I have seen and heard about this film, I think it could very well be amazing!

Posted by: Yrennoc Naes on November 30, 2009 at 03:19:00

Jeramy PBF Studios, that was the smartest thing i've heard. Talk is cheap, and coming from someone like Joe Quesada, his words dont convince me that something is going to be good.

Posted by: for asgard! on November 30, 2009 at 03:23:04

happy!

Posted by: spideymouse on November 30, 2009 at 03:25:58

awesome.. i can't wait!

Posted by: wowman on November 30, 2009 at 03:28:19

this movie will kick major ass in 2011 along with captian america and green lantern, spider-man 4 meh, not so much with black cat in it an' all, but still those other three all coming out that same year, mindblowing!

Posted by: cant wait for cap!!! on November 30, 2009 at 03:33:14

as much as im looking forward to this film, i still believe that this film will do the worst financially of all the superhero films coming in 2011. it will still be successful but its opening in the same 12 week period as spider-man 4, green lantern, and captain america. i think thor, unfortunately, may go unnoticed by the non comic fan general public.

Posted by: Gouken on November 30, 2009 at 04:13:41

I wish Joe Quesada would chill out with all the hyperbole. Trying a little too hard to sell this film. Just concentrate on making a solid movie. We'll determine whether it's redifining or not.

Posted by: monkeyporn on November 30, 2009 at 04:24:53

I can hardly wait to see pictures of Hemsworth in action. I have complete faith that Marvel will be delivering to us a modern day classic.

I'm very glad that they're ditching the Donald Blake persona. He was always pretty superfluous, and the original origin is godawful. the Ultimate Thor origin is the way to go here, especially if Loki can make him seem mentally imbalanced. The other Ultimates were very reluctant to view him as a god.

When do we see Mjolnir?

Posted by: nelson on November 30, 2009 at 04:25:51

i hope this is awesome and marvel is taking their movies to greatness by letting the studio have more control.....i want to forget about movies like Elektra, HULK (2003), The Punisher (which wasnt bad but couldve been better), and omg Ghost Rider (most crushing disappointment for one of the coolest characters). Hopefully Marvel has full control now as the last three films were great (Iron Man, The Incredible Hulk, and Wolverine). And maybe they can try to breathe new life into loveable characters who haven't received justice yet, like Dardevil, The Punisher, and Ghost Rider.

Meryl Streep Movie 'It's Complicated' Get Producers Appeal Over 'R ... - Post Chronicle

Posted: 26 Nov 2009 06:44 AM PST

The producers of Meryl Streep's new movie It's Complicated, which brings Oscars co-hosts Steve Martin and Alec Baldwin together as love rivals, are to appeal an 'R' rating classification in America.

Officials at the Mpaa's Classification and Rating Administration have ruled film fans under the age of 17 won't be able to see the movie without a consenting adult because of "some drug content and sexuality".

But producers feel the picture has been dealt with too harshly and the R could effect any Oscar hopes - and they're seeking a softer rating by appeal.

The film is due for release on 10 December (09). (c) WENN

Goldie Hawn Proud Of Kate Hudson's 'Nine' Role - Starpulse.com

Posted: 29 Nov 2009 06:05 AM PST

Goldie Hawn Proud Of Kate HudsonGoldie Hawn fought back tears when she visited Kate Hudson on the set of movie musical Nine - because seeing her daughter dance made her so proud.

The Almost Famous beauty stars alongside a top cast, including Penelope Cruz, Judi Dench and Nicole Kidman, in the highly-anticipated film, and she invited her mom along to watch the shoot. And Hawn, who began her career her as a dancer, was overwhelmed when she saw her beloved daughter take center stage.

Hudson says, "I always sang and I always danced and I always performed. My mother was a big believer that if you want to do this in your life you have to get up and go for it. She came to the set and it was fun for her. I think it was emotional for her too because that's how she started her career."

"She was a dancer and she really dedicated a lot of her life to dancing. For her to see me dancing with a chorus of other dancers was a big thing for her because that's where she started, as a go-go girl."

'Radio' a Himesh Reshammiya act all the way - SamayLive

Posted: 29 Nov 2009 07:05 PM PST

New Delhi: Composer-singer-actor Himesh Reshammiya, whose last two films bombed at the box office, has done away with his trademark cap, got rid of his nasal twang and is back to prove his acting prowess with a new look in "Radio" that releases this week.
Produced by Ravi Agrawal, the movie has been directed by Isshaan Trivedi. Also starring are Sonal Sehgal and Shehnaz Treasurywala.

"My last two films ("Aap Kaa Surroor" and "Karzzz") were super flops but my instinct says that this one will do well... my character (in the movie) is that of Vivan Shah, a radio jockey who solves people's love problems, but his own personal life has many problems," Himesh, who has completed 100 films as a composer with "Radio", told IANS.

"His wife leaves him because of compatibility issues. So he has many complexes and is a confused man. In this film, relationships and sensibilities of today have really been highlighted," he added.

The 36-year-old also spoke about his different voices in the film.

"I have sung in two different voices in the film. One in a medium octave and one in my trademark high-pitched voice," said Himesh, who has completed his 500th song with the film's track "Man ka radio".

In the film, Vivan is a successful radio jockey on a popular radio channel in Mumbai.

He has acquired everything in life but his marriage is unsuccessful. So he divorces wife Pooja (Sonal) on grounds of incompatibility.

Though he still carries a soft spot for Pooja, he soon realises that he wants to spend his life with another girl Shanaya (Shehnaz).

The movie has already recovered its investments courtesy its music that has become a hit.

"'Radio' was made at a budget of Rs.6 crore (Rs.60 million). Thankfully, the money invested in making the film was recovered through music," said Himesh.

Releasing the same week as "Radio" is Amitabh and Abhishek Bachchan's "Paa" but Himesh is undeterred.

He believes he will be able to win his fans back with "Radio".

"I'm trying to improve at every stage. I hope that people like the film because it's about a common 34-year-old man. It's a character you can identify with," he said.

Russell Crowe obsessed with archery - New Kerala

Posted: 29 Nov 2009 09:11 AM PST

London, Nov 29 : Hollywood star Russell Crowe has revealed he is in love with archery after learning the basics of the sport for his role in upcoming movie "Robin Hood".

The actor learned how to use a bow and arrow ahead of taking on the title role in the big-screen adaptation of the classic tale and believes his training made the movie better, reports contactmusic.com.

"It's a bit like learning golf, which I did for 'The Insider'. And man, I loved it. It's great. I said to the guy who was teaching me, 'I'm in love with the flight. I just love it when the arrow is released from the bow...' and he was like, 'Well, it's your sport then'," said Russell.

"We've done so much more than we expected to do in the film in terms of being able to get actual shots in there where we can shoot an arrow and a target. But you can only do that sort of stuff if you really take the time to learn the sport. It's cool man, very cool," he added.
