How to be a movie star - New York Post Posted: 24 Oct 2009 09:17 PM PDT Arguably the most famous superstar of Hollywood's golden era, Elizabeth Taylor fascinated a world from the time she was 10 years old with her magnetic beauty and vivid violet eyes. It wasn't just her screen siren good looks or her impressive acting chops that made her one of the world's famous faces, it was the many men that she attracted, ensnared and eventually dumped that made for obsessive tabloid fodder. "I can choose any man I like," Elizabeth was reported as boasting to a friend, according to biographer William J. Mann. "I don't see why everyone is making such a fuss." Mann shows what the fuss was all about. He starts with the first man in her life, her father Frances, who was "discreetly homosexual, pursuing a clandestine affair with the art collector Kurt Stempler." From there, Mann follows Elizabeth's soaring career — and equally engaging sex life — in chronological order from the 1950s to the 1980s, from the words of her lovers, close friends and Taylor herself. First Husband, Hotelier Conrad Hilton Taylor wedded millionaire Conrad Nicholson Hilton, a.k.a. "Nicky," the great-uncle of Paris and Nicky Hilton, when she was just 18 years old in 1950. But the wedding was based more on giving Taylor an image of stability than for love. Taylor would later admit to crossing her fingers during the nuptials. The couple was a match made in heaven on paper, but behind closed doors, things turned nasty really quickly for the Hiltons. Nicky was cheating, gambling and hitting Taylor. Once, he struck her so hard that she had a miscarriage. "Nick kind of got sick of beating the s - - - out of me," Elizabeth admitted years later. One year after they wed, Taylor filed for divorce. "Divorcing Nick was the first grown-up decision I ever made absolutely alone." Second Husband, British Actor Michael Wilding One divorce down, Taylor, only 19, met, and proposed to, the much-older (at 39) Wilding. Taylor wore the pants in the relationship — a fact that would later lead to their breakup. To make matters worse, the prevailing rumor around the Hollywood world was that Wilding was secretly gay. Though she bore two children with him, it remained mostly a sexless marriage. Husband and wife, Taylor later revealed, lived more like "brother and sister." Taylor would try to incite Wilding with no results. One night, while he was reading the newspaper, she snatched it from him and exclaimed, "So much for you and your stupid games! Go on hit me, why don't you?" When he refused she groaned, "If only you would. That would prove you are flesh and blood instead of a stuffed dummy." This content has passed through fivefilters.org. 50 Cent wanted to play MR. T. in A-Team movie remake - Thaindian.com Posted: 24 Oct 2009 09:38 PM PDT London, Oct 25 (ANI): Rapper 50 Cent had auditioned for the role of '80s icon MR. T. in the upcoming A-Team movie remake. The hip-hop star is a big fan of the hit TV show. And after hearing about the plans to revive the classic series on the big screen, he vowed to land the role of Sergeant Bosco 'B.A.' Baracus. But had to pull out of because the shoot would have clashed with his music schedule. "I went for the B.A. Baracus role in The A-Team a few weeks ago but they'd already started shooting, so it would have kinda jammed things up at my end, because I've got my new album coming out," the Daily Express quoted him as telling 'Total Film' magazine. Meanwhile, film bosses have hired mixed martial arts tough guy Quinton 'Rampage' Jackson to take on the iconic role. The cast also includes Bradley Cooper as Faceman Peck and Liam Neeson as A-Team leader Hannibal Smith. (ANI) Sphere: Related ContentRelated Stories

HYDERABAD: 'Gamyam', the Telugu movie about two friends on a motorcycle, bagged the Golden Nandi award for the Best Film while Ravi Teja (for 'Neninthe') and Swathi ('Ashta Chamma') won the awards for the Best Actor and Actress respectively. As many as four awards were bagged by 'Gamyam', including Best Director award for Jagarlamudi Radha Krishna, Best Supporting Actor for E. Naresh and Best Lyric Writer for Ch. Seetharama Sastry and Best Song 'Enthavaraku and Endukoraku'. The Nandi Film Awards – 2008 were announced by the 14-member AP State Nandi Film Awards Committee headed by Thammareddy Bharadwaja on Saturday. Commissioner for Information C. Parthasarathy said that the awards would be presented in December first week. The Nandi TV awards would be announced in November and Nandi Theatre awards in January, 2010. 'Vinayakudu' and 'Parugu' won the second and third best feature film awards while 'Ashta Chamma' got the best home-viewing feature film and 'Ready', the best popular feature film award. The special jury awards went to Anushka for her role in 'Arundhati', Allu Arjun for 'Parugu', and the film 'Bathukamma'. There were no eligible entries for the first best film award under the children's, documentary and education film categories. Mr. Bharadwaja said that the quality of the film entries they received was much better this year. The jury also sent a message, by not giving 'first best' award when there were no deserving entries in some categories, that only quality work would be considered for the awards. Following are some of the Nandi awards won under various categories: Best feature film on national integration: 1940 Lo Oka Gramam; Best character actor - Mukku Raju; Best comedian – Brahmanandam (Ready); Best Villain – Sonu Sood (Arundhati); Best child actor- Master Bharath (Ready); Best child actress- Baby Divya Nagesh (Arundhati); Best first film of a director- Sai Kiran Adavi (Vinayakudu); Best screenplay writer - A.
