Smurfs Movie Details RevealedSubmit Comment
Apparently the upcoming CGI/live-action "Smurfs" adaptation is moving forwards. We have already seen a rendered character design (pictured) and now have a casting call that gives a little idea of what's going to happen in the movie.

GRACE (Major Supporting Role): 26-35 years old. A first-time expectant mother, she's faced with juggling both an overworked husband and, ultimately, a household full of Smurfs. Should be lovely, maternal and have good comedic energy.

ODILE (Major Supporting Role): Late 20's to mid-40's. Foreign: European (French, Spanish, Italian), British, Latin American, French Canadian, etc. A beautiful, charming (when she wants to be), high-powered executive. She runs a high-end French cosmetics company. Strong comedic ability essential.

Clearly the Smurfs will end up in the human world in the in the home of Grace.

Raja Gosnell (Beverly Hills Chihuahua, Scooby-Doo) is directing the new 3D movie, which is scheduled to hit theaters on July 29th, 2011.

Just like Tom Hanks' movie 'The Terminal': German man camps out in ... - New York Daily News

Brasilia - It's Brazil's version of "The Terminal."

In a scene right out of the Tom Hanks movie, a German man who went to Brazil for a woman he met on the Internet has been camping out in an airport for more than a month.

He's stranded because thieves took all his money and possessions, authorities said.

Klaus Gutschmidt, 50, moved into the international airport in the coastal resort city of Natal in late December, said Rildo Tarquinio, the airport's immigration chief.

He had been robbed while looking for a hotel after a one-week relationship with the Brazilian woman didn't work out.

Gutschmidt spends his time wandering the airport and sleeps on flattened cardboard spread on the floor. Food court workers pool their money to buy him meals, Tarquinio said.

Video from Globo TV showed Gutschmidt using computers in the terminal to access the Internet, and he spoke basic Portuguese in an interview with the network.

Relatives and friends donated money for a return ticket, and Gutschmidt is to head home Feb.16, said Axel Geppert, German consul in Natal.
